@DigitalStefan Reading that story just tells me that I'm well outside the norm in terms of my home networking lol.

"Outside of performance hungry gamers, plugging devices into ethernet ports at home is probably quite a rare thing, so..."

Nearly all the machines in my house are wired. The only real devices that use wifi are mobiles and the wife's laptop.

I own all my own hardware (including modem), and deployed a mesh network.

I once tried to create a program in Atari GFA BASIC that would randomly generate a pleasant on screen pattern. All I managed to do is randomly generate a series of butts and boobs. It wasn't a success.

@Recta_Pete I consider that an absolute win. Everyone likes boobs and butts.

@realtime I've used nails like these, they drive in no harder than any other nail of the same size.

@ClarusPlusPlus Hope everything turns out in the best possible way. Being scared sucks.

@kiwa only one graphic. More costs extra.

Also "VGA" is my favorite company.

@DosFox@tech.lgbt Sounds to me like you need to design a Z80-based EEPROM programmer from scratch. Using breadboard, dupont wires, and all data sent via IR.

@linuxfiend Next time you're looking for a cheap VPS, check out RackNerd. Especially on black Friday. You can get yearly plans for as low as $20. I've been using them for years now.

I guess Mastodon has "made it" when the crypto scammers show up lol. I was fast on the block button.

@d_j_fitzgerald That sounds power related imo. Check your voltage rails and watch for sag. Could be indicative of a bad cap in the PSU.

@po3mah We always called these "pillbugs" or "rollie pollies"

Their scientific family is Armadillidiidae - there are many species within that family. They're land-based crustaceans.

@AgathaSorceress The lovely bit about Mastodon / ActivityPub is that you could write this code (or pay a freelancer a few bucks to do it) and deploy it on your own server/convince your server admin to implement it. If it went well, it might make it upstream to the main blob.
