Ever buy something, for probably way more than it's worth, just to make it available or keep it from being lost to time? @textfiles need not answer lol.

@orion3311 Indeed. Picked up an almost complete set of Ryder's TV/Radio manuals and Sam's Photofacts from 1918 -> 1965. Passed them on to a good home who will eventually scan / preserve them.
